When I first started this blog I wrote quite personally about my life and experiences and though this was hard and those close to me found it hard (and more often than not, rather irritating!), it also made me more aware of how important it is to share.
My words opened a floodgate of response from people who felt the same, had been in the same situations and/or emphasised with me. It was a relief to know I wasn't the only one and I've made good friends with random people from those common experiences.
So it was with interest that I came across The Virginity Project - a blog started by Kate Monro, who, following what she calls a lightbulb moment, "set out to ask British men and women to reveal their most intimate truth - their virginity loss stories. The response was overwhelming and the result is a groundbreaking and very personal insight into the beating heart of British sexuality."
A few years later and the many stories that poured in have resulted in her first book, aptly called, The first time. For most Christians, your virginity is sacred and losing it is a no-go area unless you're married, so it's interesting to hear what people have to say on the subject...those who did it 'the right way' and those who didn't. :)
Having read it and passed it to my colleague who read it, it is now making its way through my friends but you can purchase your own copy via Amazon and most good bookshops.
If you want a taster, make sure you check our her blog and look out for interviews in Grazia, on radio and in national newspapers!
Or just Google, that's always a good one these days ;)
