Having just spent the day at Winter Wonderland's Bavarian Village I have decided that New Year's Day is definitely the new New Year's Eve!
NYE is always a bit of a let down for me. Exorbitant prices teamed with high expectations does not a good combination make. This year, we decided to stay in for the big occasion so while it was pouring down with rain we kept dry and had a lovely home cooked meal accompanied by two bottles of champers - Veuve, what else?
Then today, the first day of the year, we celebrated the arrival of 2013 and clear blue skies by watching London's New Year Parade - which included singers, dancers, ghostbusters, pearly kings and queens and the odd dalek with groups representing every borough - tried (and failed) not to scream on a few of the Winter Wonderland rides and then settled down with a stein of lager and possibly the last mulled wine of the season, inside the family friendly party tent that is the Bavarian Village.
