Since the death of our first child two months ago, my husband and I have received
so many loving words sent by email, text, on Facebook, here, letter and all other forms of kindness so I want to thank you all for that support.
Today I received another card and it was accompanied by this wonderful poem which I want to share with you:
A child loaned
'I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine.' He said.
'For you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six of seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, til I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.'
